TransKarachi, the Project Implementation Agency of the Karachi Red Line BRT Project is recruiting candidates for the following positions in Karachi.

Contract Management Specialist

About the Role

The position is responsible to administer and manage the performance-based contracts of various service providers and vendors engaged by TransKarachi. He/she will assist with monitoring and administration of all commercial and service contracts in accordance with TransKarachi policies and applicable legal requirements. He/she will work closely with internal business partners to provide support in a wide variety of vendor engagements, including transit service provider, intelligent technology systems providers, marketing, and media initiatives. He/she will also be required to provide support to the internal business partners in the development of new vendor relationships/contracts and will ensure alignment with reinforcing contract terms and existing Legal processes in a timely manner.

Qualification

Master’s degree in civil engineering, economics, finance, management, law, contracts, or related discipline. Foreign qualification will be considered an added advantage. Specialized Training and Professional training in procurement and contract administration, ADB and other MDB procurement and contract administration system, FIDIC conditions of contract, strategic management, project coordination, performance measurement and management, negotiation skills, or any other skills considered relevant for the position. Active affiliations — membership of recognised Industry or Professional Organisations.

Experience

At least 7 years of relevant experience in infrastructure projects. Candidate should have demonstrated experience on ADB or other MDB procurement and contract administration system. A minimum of 3 years of experience on ADB procurement and contract system is highly desirable.

Preference will be given to the engineering background candidates.

Finance Manager

About the Role

Manager Finance is to ensure that TransKarachi control and manage finances well, and that the strategic planning and decision making are supported by sound analysis under the leadership of CFO. He/ She must also provide the necessary support to ensure that the financial affairs are conducted in accordance with all applicable laws, guidelines, rules, and regulations.

Qualification

CA / CMA / ACCA / FCA / FCMA / ACA / ACMA (A member of recognized body of professional accountants). Active affiliation – must be a member of recognized body of professional accountants.

Experience

At least 5 years of post-qualification relevant experience including  3 years in a managerial position.

Assistant Manager Building

About the Role

The Assistant Manager Buildings Engineer having expertise in buildings design, construction and maintenance works shall ensure that the building Infrastructure of the Red Line BRT project is completed within its project budget and estimates.

The Assistant Manager Buildings Engineer will design, conduct design and drawing reviews, supervise construction and prepare, review, and verify quantity and cost estimates, payment certificates, planning and progress schedules and variations made.

Qualification

Bachelor’s in Civil Engineering or related field from a HEC recognized university. Higher Qualification, Professional Training courses and/or Foreign qualification pertaining to Infrastructure Planning and Quality Control and any other skills considered relevant for the position will be considered an added advantage.

Experience

At least 7 years of post-qualification relevant experience. Candidate should have Building Infrastructure, Project Design, Planning, Construction and Quality Control demonstrated experience.  Experience of Multinational and Donor Agency projects will be considered an added advantage.

A minimum of 3 years of on-site construction and supervision experience is highly desirable. Relevant International work experience will be considered an added advantage.

Assistant Manager Utilities and Surveys

About the Role

The AM Utilities shall ensure existing utilities infrastructure within and along the corridor are shifted within budget and estimates in timely manner.

Qualification

Bachelor’s in civil engineering / Transportation Engineering or related field. Higher Qualification and/or foreign qualification will be considered an added advantages.

Experience

At least 7 years of post-qualification relevant experience. Candidate should have demonstration Utilities relocation experience of at least 2 years. Experience of multinational and donor agency infrastructure project execution, planning and quality control is highly desirables. Relevant international work experience will be considered an added advantage.

Assistant Manager Roads

About the Role

The Assistant Manager Roads Engineer having expertise in roads design, construction and maintenance works shall ensure that the roadways and pavement infrastructure of the Red Line BRT project is completed within its project budget and estimates. The Assistant Manager Roads Engineer will design, conduct design and drawing reviews, supervise construction and prepare, review, and verify quantity and cost estimates, payment certificates, planning and progress schedule and variations made. Reporting to GM Planning, this is a temporary position for three (3) years within Project Implementation Unit and may be extended until project complete or three years whichever is earlier.

Qualification

Bachelor’s in Civil Engineering/Transportation engineering or related field from HEC recognized university. Higher Qualification and/or foreign qualification will be considered an added advantage. Must be proficient in AutoCAD, PRIMAVERA, MAS PROJECT etc. Professional training courses pertaining to Infrastructure Planning and quality control and any other skills considered relevant for the position will be considered an added advantage. Membership of relevant recognized industry or professional organizations.

Experience

At least 7 years of post- qualification relevant experience. Candidate should have road infrastructure, Project Design, Planning, Construction and Quality Control demonstrated experience. Experience of Multinational Donor Agency will be considered an added advantage. A minimum of 4 years of on-site road and pavement construction and supervision experience is highly desirable. Relevant International work experience will be considered an added advantage.

Assistant Manager Infrastructure

About the Role

The AM Infrastructure shall provide technical support for review of BRT detailed design and supervisory services for oversight of construction works and post construction long-term maintenance works.

 Qualification

Bachelor’s in civil engineering / Transportation Engineering or related field. Foreign qualification will be considered an added advantage. Must be proficient in AutoCAD, PRIMAVERA, MS PROJECT etc. Professional training courses pertaining to Infrastructure Planning and Quality Control and any other relevant skills.

Experience

At least 7 years of post-qualification relevant experience of infrastructure planning, design, and construction. Candidate should have demonstrated experience of Multinational and donor agency infrastructure project execution, planning, and quality control. A minimum of 2 years of managerial experience for an infrastructure development project is highly desirable. Relevant International work experience will be considered an added advantage.
