About the Role
The Chief Operating Officer (COO) will serve as the principal deputy to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and play a pivotal role in managing the daily operations of TransKarachi. This role will be instrumental in ensuring the effective implementation of the company’s strategic initiatives, including the Karachi Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) Red Line project. The COO shall oversee and manage the tasks and assignments delegated task to him/her by the CEO, which may include operational units, planning & infrastructure unit, corporate service, and stakeholder engagement. The position requires exceptional leadership skills to align multiple teams and stakeholders towards achieving organizational objectives within defined timelines and budgets.
This position will directly supervise approximate 04 senior management staff members, establish performance benchmarks, monitor work plans, and lead periodic evaluations to ensure alignment with the company’s mission and goals.
Qualification
The candidate shall possess a minimum Master’s degree in Civil Engineering, Transportation Engineering, Project Management, Public Administration, Business Administration, Urban Planning, or a related field from a HEC accredited university.
Degree from Internationally recognized institutions will be considered an advantage, as well as Master’s level degree.
Certification or training in project management framework such as PMP, FIDIC, or similar is highly desirable.
Experience
The candidate shall possess a minimum 15 years of professional experience, including at least 7 years in senior management positions. Proven track record in managing large-scale infrastructure projects, preferably in urban transport system. Experience in previously working with international financing institutions or development agencies will be considered advantageous. Demonstrated ability to lead multidisciplinary teams in a high-pressure environment. Experience in public private partnership and stakeholder management is advantages.
